From Buckingham Palace to The White House: Contrasting Cultures Between The UK and USA.

Wait till you tell your friends back home that Americans like to watch each other on the toilet. Wait! What?! — You’ll have to keep reading to find out more.

It’s always fun to compare cultures, especially if you’ve become quite familiar with another country's cultures.

My partner is American, I’m British.

So I am somewhat familiar with some of the very blatant differences between the two countries. I’m not going to discuss the obvious ones though like chips and crisps, or biscuits and well, biscuits. It’s just the same name for two different food items. You’ve heard it all before.

Hopefully, this is something a little different, from my observations.

1. Accents

One big noticeable difference is accents. The USA of course has different accents, but compared to the small island that is the UK, the differences in their accents are minimal.

For example, if you drive 30 miles from Manchester to Liverpool there’s a huge difference in accents it goes from understanding what the person is saying, even though it’s a broad accent, in Manchester, to only understanding every third or fourth word they say in Liverpool.
