Substack Confuses Me.

I think it’s just me, but I’ve had a look at Substack once or twice but I still haven’t got my head around it.

Am I overcomplicating it in my own head?

I’m interested in joining but it would be really cool if I could understand the concept and how money is earned on Substack.

Is anyone willing to break it down for me in simple terms?

• Does it pay similar to Medium or do you need subscribers to earn?
• What kind of content can you write?
• Is there a minimum word count?
• Is it as easy to use as Medium is?
